REVIEW: Anna Mini Bust by Grand Jester Studios
For the first time in.. well, ever seeing as how this is my first review for the site. Today I will be reviewing for you the Anna Mini Bust from Grand Jester Studios. Anna is one of the latest releases in Grand Jester Studios line of Mini Bust based on many of Disney’s beloved characters. The way I will be doing my reviews is I will go over three categories(packaging, sculpt and paint) and rating them on a five point scale. So let’s get to it!
Packaging 2.5/5
There is nothing special here. I didn’t even bother to include a picture of the box for this review. Anna comes packed inside a black box with the Walt Disney Showcase Collection logo on the front. The Grand Jester Studios Logo on top. On the side is a sticker with a black and white image of the bust with the name of the item, the item number and the UPC code. Anna is packed inside between two pieces of styrofoam. This does its job very well of insuring that Anna makes her way to to you in one piece.
Sculpt 4/5
There is no mistaking that this is the adorkable Anna that we all know and love! The detail on the hair is great and not over done. The details on the outfit are also spot on and very nicely done. The base is very nicely detailed and is a great touch as it the tree where she first met Olaf. The only thing holding this back from a perfect score is the cape. It feels like it is a different material than the rest of the bust. Almost feels like a thin piece of vinyl. Anna stands just under 7 inches high. Included below is a picture of her with her Pop! Vinyl and Disney Infinity versions to give you an idea of size.
Paint 4/5
The paint job on Anna is very well done, but there are a couple spots where there is some uneven lines and some spots that have bleed on to other areas. Mostly around the fingers is where the painting could be tightened up. Nothing really serious that takes away from the overall look. The designs on her outfit are very nicely done and crisp with no problems. The hair is an accurate shade and the the white stands are very cleanly done. The addition of her freckles on her face is nicely done and not over done. The frost on her dress where the bust transitions to base is a nice touch!
Overall this is an excellent piece and is a must have for any fan Frozen! Though one thing I was saddened by it seems they are no longer hand numbering the bottom of the base like they have on past releases in the line.
If you would like to order Anna you can get her from Entertainment Earth where she is currently In Stock.
Entertainment Earth also currently has Elsa In Stock and Olaf available for Pre-Order.
