The Disney Collector’s Time Capsule: Beauty and the Beast
Disney releases so many amazing products each month that we often forget about collectibles from the past. I thought it would be fun to take a look at some items that we may actually love to own but didn’t know existed. Using the eBay sold listings function, let’s see what treasures were snatched up during the past month.
Recently, there have been lots of updates on the cast of the live action Beauty and the Beast movie. In honor of the exciting news, this week’s theme is Beauty and the Beast.

This snow globe showcases the moment when Belle and Beast meet at the top of the stairway in the ballroom. Their inanimate object friends are happily gathered at the bottom of the steps, waiting to watch them dance. On the back, there’s even the snazzy coat hanger playing the violin and setting the mood for the dance. There are also various things alluding to other important parts and objects from the movie, such as the rose in the glass dome, the fireplace and a stack of books, and some colorful dinnerware surrounding a cake. The snow globe plays the popular tune “Beauty and the Beast.” This item sold for $66, only $1 above the retail price.

Here is a beautiful puzzle pin set released in 2002 featuring the stained glass of Beast’s castle shown at the end of the movie. It consists of four pins that fit together like a puzzle to form the bright and colorful scene. I really like this item because it depicts a true “happily ever after” moment: the prince and Belle are dancing, and Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lummiere, Cogsworth, Babette, and Sultan are human (or in Sultan the footrest’s case, dog) again! The rose, which initially represented the curse on the castle and is now associated with bringing together Belle and Beast, fits nicely at the top and center of the pin. This lovely pin set sold for $225.50.

Last is this interesting and practical set of six desk items. There’s a waterwheel tape dispenser, an index card holder that features the rose in the glass dome on top of it, Sultan on top of a stapler, Lumiere and Babette playing hide and seek around a pencil holder, Cogsworth with a serving tray paper clip holder, and Mrs. Potts and her teacart that can hold a sticky note pad. This cool set sold for $93.
