Disney Infinity 3.0 Live Twitch Toy Box TV Show #5 Recap

Lots of great stuff on this weeks Toy Box TV Live on Twitch Stream. We got to see some more 3.0 playset gameplay and some new power discs were revealed. Read our recap of the stream below…

• JV and Allison talked about what they have been up to this entire week. Allison has been working on some top secret plans  for a community event that will be coming at the end of summer. Many think this could be the possible 2nd summit! JV has been working on many top secret plans for future infinity! Wow….maybe 4.0 stuff!??! Interesting…
• JV lets us know that Sean Patton will be demoing the Rise against the Empire playset and Allison will be showing us 8 brand new power discs.
• Avalanche has been working on killing bugs in the game at this moment. No, it’s not a Lion king mini game, its just the game going through some finishing touches! Apparently there are some wicked crazy bugs.
• E3 will be open to the public via fan tickets that will be given out by the developers before the event. So it looks like Allison has about 200 to give out to fans….AWESOME!
• JV is busy putting the finishing touches to what will be presented at E3. Apparently there will be lots to do at their booth!
• JV showed off his Siracha shirt.

• Sean Patton was brought on to give us a gameplay demo of the Rise Against the Empire playset.
• Sean is currently training the team of people that will be demoing the game at E3.
• Rise Against the Empire has some really cool cut scenes and the AT-ATs are amazing.
• Studio Gobo is working on this playset in partnership with Avalanche.
• Studio Gobo drew inspiration for the animation of the AT-ATs from a video game called Shadow of Colossus.
• AT-ATs have a battery attached to the top of each of their legs. You can disable them by removing the batteries.

• When you attack the AT-AT’s leg, it removes the armor from it. That then reveals bars that you can climb to take you to the top, where you can find the battery to remove.
• Studio Gobo developed a unique procedural generation physics tool, that allows the AT-AT to turn, which is something that AT-ATs couldn’t originally do. It is a cool tool that also allows them to fall differently depending on where you put the tow cable or it allows them to trek the terrain differently.
• AT-STs will also use the new procedural generation physics tool.
• AT-ATs can be destroyed three different ways: removing the batteries, tow cable, or ejecting the pilot and controlling it by landing on top of the AT-AT.

• You can control an AT-AT by using the remote located on the top! That remote can also be removed and carried around with you.
• Jar Jar Binks is also in the Rise Against the Empire Playset.
• There is an awesome dual player AT-AT sumo challenge. Its very cool!

• Sean and Matt Solie have been playing Toy Box Speed Way a lot and they love it! Sean says Sumo Digital has done an amazing job.
• I got a shout out regarding my Parody video called “Mad Men Infinity.” Go check it out if you haven’t. It’s on youtube.
• Looks like Evilos will be a guest on next weeks show.
• After Sean finished the demo, Tyler came on to hand model all the figures for Rise Against the Empire including the Playset Game Piece.
• They revealed that the 8 new power discs come in their own playset themed power disc pack.
• They described every brand new power disc that included vehicles, skys, terrains, team ups, and costume changes.

• JV mentioned that the music in the playsets will be a lot of original licensed scores from the Star Wars films, but Avalanche also wrote some new original pieces, which will be cool to hear.
• Allison brought up a question about the Best Buy 8 playset rumor, which was basically a typo listed on their website. JV made sure to clarify that that is false. As of now, only 5 playsets have been announced.
• AT-ATs in the Toy Box are currently being looked at as the procedural physics tool is very heavy as far as data goes. For now the AT-AT is just a decorative toy.
• All Star Wars characters will cross over to every playset. You will need to collect each of the character’s Legacy Coin found in each playset, in order to do so.

• We were use to seeing Mickey and Minnie cardboard standees next to the couch on the show. This time they disappeared and in their place was this awesome art piece, placed on the wall behind them. I asked them about it and JV explained that it was one of the proposed covers for the game informer magazine spread. He said they also like to hang those great pieces of art to inspired the employees working on the game. It was a gorgeous piece showing off the Rise against the Empire characters. Very impressive!
• There will no longer be rare power discs since blind bags are a thing of the past. However, JV did mention that there will be some new special power discs that can only be obtained by doing some pretty special feats. I can’t wait to see what that will be about! Im excited for that!
• Jeff came on to give a special announcement about Disney partnering up with Maker Studios. They will be starting a new segment called First Play where they will give youtube sensations a “first play” opportunity with the game and they can review it on video. The youtube guests are Pewdiepie, Evantube, Stampy, and Captain Sparkles.
• Next week they will have more 3.0 gameplay within the Toy Box!
