Closer Look At Disney Infinity 3.0’s Ultron
Disney have revealed some details on Ultron joining Disney Infinity via a interesting story on USA Today.
So far Disney have announced there is going to be a Marvel Playset and that Hulkbuster and Ultron are confirmed for 3.0.
“We selected Ultron and Hulkbuster very deliberately because we knew the reaction to them was so strong,” says Bill Rosemann, creative director for Marvel Games. “People would want to experience these characters in the Infinity format.”
The design of Ultron is based on be look of Ultron from the recent Avengers: Age Of Ultron. It also gave his team a chance to experiment with building a new model: The movie Ultron had a glow beneath his Vibranium torso, and a similar look was achieved with a split parts and a red internal piece under silver plastic.
They continued to explain how the figure was designed including the pose,
“He almost looks like a king, with the wide legs and holding his hand up,” Rosemann says. “He looks like he’s making one of his classic Ultron proclamations about how technology is superior to man.”
Other details about how Ultron acts within the game sees his special ability to summon Ultron bots from the ground to attack his enemies. In addition, he has a “wave of destruction” energy blast he can unleash long range, but also can utilize his command over gravity to magnetically pull foes close and then shoot them point blank.
As for Hulkbuster, Bunker says, “he’s about as big and bad as they get.”
The two Marvel characters are movie-ready favorites now, and carrying them over to the video-game world of Disney Infinity means approaching them with the same depth and complexity as in any genre, according to Rosemann.
“You never want to see a hero or villain doing something boring or something we can do, like sitting at desk or commuting,” he says. “We want to see our characters in action and get across their powers and personalities in the most dynamic way possible.
“If this is someone’s first time seeing Ultron, we want them to understand what he’s all about.”
Both figures look awesome and I am looking forward to trying out Ultron in the new Marvel playset.
