Beyond the Mouse: Blogger Bash NYC- Peanuts Movie Luncheon
Now, while this site is dedicated to all things Disney, occasionally I have the chance to visit with other companies at events that I feel our readers would get a kick out of me sharing information, pictures, etc. from. One of these such events happened last Friday, at Blogger Bash NYC. Following the Disney Infinity Breakfast and the subsequent photo shoot of Mulan and Han Solo, it was time to visit with the team from the upcoming The Peanuts Movie for a look at the movie and a chat with some of the creative team of the movie, including a few of the child stars who voice these popular creations by Charles M. Schultz.
Shortly after lunched was served to the Blogger Bash attendees that showed up, the panel started on the small stage. Included in the panel were four of the child stars: Noah Johnston, who voices Schroeder; Alexander Garfin, who voices Linus; A.J. Tecce, who voices Pigpen; and Francesca Capaldi, who voices the Little Red-Haired Girl. Here they are with Snoopy!

After watching an extended trailer for the movie, which was really fun, it was time for a Q&A, which led to some very funny moments, usually revolving around Alexander, who is a comedian in the making. Don’t get me wrong, all four of the kids were engaging and entertaining, but Alexander’s stories about his audition process and break time rituals during recording sessions were hilarious. What I found interesting is that, even though the movie is coming out in early November, Alexander is still recording his lines as Linus… mainly due to Linus having a lot of monologues in the movie. After the event, I confirmed that with his mother and, sure enough, he had another session scheduled for today and there could even be more… they won’t know until the end of the currently scheduled session.
The buzz at the event was Francesca Capaldi, who was recently announced as the voice of the Little Red-Haired Girl when the character was revealed. Here Francesca is with her character counterpart at SDCC.
Why was there such a buzz? Well, Francesca was Chloe James in the Disney TV series Dog with a Blog, which had a very successful 3 year run on Disney XD… and I have quite a few friends who loved the show, both children and adults. On stage, Francesca was, by far, the most well versed in interviewing, with her experience from the show.
Overall, it was a very fun event, and made me excited about the movie that much more. Until then, I can enjoy this official trailer for the movie, coming out in November.
Special thanks to everyone from Blogger Bash and The Peanuts Movie for a very fun lunchtime event. It was quite enjoyable and a lot of fun.
