Custom Corner: X-Men ’92

In a world full of villains, twelve mutant superheroes fight for justice and vinyl acceptance.  Based on the animated X-Men TV series from the 90s, these vinylmation heroes, created by Are-Jay Designs, bring some brightly colored liveliness to their modernized dark counterparts.

A vinyl customizer for several years prior to the first Vinylmation release, Are-Jay was intrigued by the unique mouse-eared design that the vinyl figures presented.  Inspired by the characters and costumes seen in the 90s animated series, Are-Jay set to work combining his vision with their vivid style and Disney’s vinylmation figure.  “My favorite part about customizing vinyls is seeing how you can blend your personal taste and style to a character and make it uniquely yours,” he noted on his design process.  “It’s so much fun!”

“Fun” is definitely the most apt descriptor of this set.  With the dazzling colors, inked comic book-esque lines, and spirited expressions, these figures aren’t content just sitting on a shelf when they could be fighting villains together as a team.
