Walt Disney Comics & Stories 75th Anniversary Review
IDW Publishing have released a special edition for the 75th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Comics & Stories. A bumper edition that includes 60 pages and priced at $5.99.
This issue is a great comic for classic Disney fans to pick up because there is such a collection of characters including not only well known characters like Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale.
But also lesser known characters like Ludvig Von Drake, Bucky Bug, Little Hiawatha, Lil Bad Wolf, Scamp and the Gremlins.
Here is a full list of this issues stories:
- STORY 1 The Mighty Trapper from Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories 36 (1943)
- STORY 2 Ridin’ the Rails from Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories 173-175 (1955)
- STORY 3 Low Diver from Silly Symphonies comic strip (1932), reprinted in Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories 23 (1942)
- STORY 4 Treed from Silly Symphonies comic strip (1940), reprinted in Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories 28 (1943)

- STORY 9 Magica’s Missin’ Magic from Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories 591 (1994)
- STORY 10 March of Science: Dinosaurs from Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories 559 (1991)
Ridin’ the Rails is the largest story of the comic, split over 3 parts throughout the issue and is a interesting story involving Mickey & Goofy on a railroad and struggling with criminals trying to stop them.
Another highlights include Donald Duck in the Mighty Trapper, where he is trying to get one over his nephews and also liked Ludvig Von Drake in March of Science was a fun look at his theories on the Dinosaurs becoming extinct. And any time Chip & Dale are included is a great issue to me.
I really liked how this comic gives you a little bit of everything and works as a great history lesson in these characters, enjoying some really old classic Disney Magic and having a laugh.
If you haven’t checked out a issue of Comics and Stories before, this is a perfect jumping point to see if you enjoy these classic stories.
75 years of a comic book is a big deal and this is a really enjoyable bumper edition that continues to entertain old and new fans alike.
