‘Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival’ To Replace Captain EO

Disney have announced that Captain EO will be closing at Epcot from December 6th and replaced with a new 4D show featuring Disney and Pixar animated shorts.

Epcot guests can experience beloved Disney and Pixar animated shorts in a new 4D experience located in Magic Eye Theater in the Imagination Pavilion. “Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival” will include a look into the visionary minds behind some of the world’s most iconic animated films today.

The show will feature 3 short animated movies and require 3D glasses.   This doesn’t feel like its a permanent replacement for Captain EO

Captain EO originally came to the parks in 1986 until 1996, and was brought back in 2010 as a tribute to Michael Jackson, following his death.
