WDI Mickeys Of Glendale Pop Up Shop Review Nov. 14th
The day arose, it was November 14th!! I was so excited, especially after a sleepless night. Unfortunately since I was unable to get the special Pinocchio ticket that gave me front of the line access to the Mickeys of Glendale pop up shop, I was worrying about not getting any good pins. I’m going to tell you the story of the enjoyable day!
I woke up at 7am and I looked out my hotel room only to see the Cinderella Castle. Today was my last day at Disney, and I planned it all around the Mickeys Of Glendale pop up store. Since I wasn’t able to get the Pinocchio ticket, I spent a few hours resort hopping, and buying pins. Also, being an annual pass holder I went into the Magic Kingdom and rode the Haunted Mansion. Finally it was about 11:30, so I hopped back on the monorail to go to the next stop….. Contemporary Hotel (where the event was to be held).
I got off the monorail and grabbed a Olaf gingerbread cookie… mmm those are yummy! And rushed down to the Ballrooms of America. Turns out, I was one of the first general admission people there…. but that still meant about 200 people got in before me. Oh, the line waiting was pure torture.
Finally! At 2 they started letting the movie people in to shop, in groups of about 40. I got in around 3:50, and tons of pins were there (yet nothing like D23). I managed to grab the full stained glass set, featuring dragons (somehow 2 figments snuck into my bag), I got the Disney Springs pin, I got 5 of the Princess canal boat pins (yah! I needed them), and I got 2 of the Haunted Mansion Pin bags (a great deal for only $20 a piece). But I was approaching the frame table, and that’s what I wanted the most.
About 25 people away from the frame table, I see tons of frames left and my eye sets on 2 of them. The 2 I want the most are the Disneyland Lands set that was released at D23, and the Princess canal set (I wanted this one more). I got up to the table, and I got the princess canal set, and its AP (artist proof)!!!!!! Yippee!!!
As my experience came to an end, I checked out with a whopping bill, but hey at Disney what do you expect? I hopped on the Magical Express bus, and my vacation came to an end. Fortunately, I arrived home safely and I got tons of awesome pins!
