The Rebellion’s Best Pilot To Get His Own Series
One of the breakout characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Poe Dameron, will soon be getting his own comic book series according to USA Today. Marvel Comics will be releasing the ongoing series in April 2016 and it will be written by Charles Soule (Swamp Thing, New 52 Superman) and drawn by Phil Noto (Star Wars: Chewbacca).
The comic series will focus on Poe’s secret missions leading up to the opening scene of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Poe’s robotic companion BB-8 will also be accompanying him and will be his co-star for the series.
Soule and Noto also promise to deliver us new locations in the Star Wars galaxy as well as cameos by beloved legacy characters. They are also working on a new First Order villain for the series.
“Sometimes it can feel like the Star Wars universe is so well trodden and so many stories have already been told. But the way the Episode VII galaxy is set up, there are opportunities for new archetypes almost, and the bad guy we’re working with is going to feel fresh and cool.”
All Star War fans will need to check this series out. I know I will be.
