Disney Clean Up At The Annie Awards
This weekend the 43rd Annie Awards took place, celebrating Animation in Film, TV and gaming. Disney have a very successful event, with Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Gravity Falls, Mickey Mouse and Wander Over Yonder, picking up awards.
Pixar’s Inside Out picked up 10 awards including best animated feature and best director for Pete Docter. Other awards for the emotions include for its writing (Pete Docter, Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley) and voice acting for Phyllis Smith, who played the role of the emotion Sadness.
“The Good Dinosaur” also picked up an award for achievement in animated effects in an animated production went to “Dinosaur’s” Jon Reisch and Stephen Marshall, giving Pixar a total of 11 awards for the night.
Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron also picked up an award for its animation in a live action movie.
While on the small screen, Disney Television Animation also picked up 5 awards including 3 for “Disney Mickey Mouse,” and “Wander Over Yonder” and “Gravity Falls” both picked up a award. Matt Braly won the award for his directing the “Northwest Mansion Mystery” episode of “Gravity Falls.”
