Agent Carter Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
We open with Peggy asleep, but being disturbed by Jason, he wants her to come to the lab. He shows her a discovery he has made from Jane Scott’s tissue sample. The dark matter with in the sample is attracted to him, when suddenly it escapes from the container and enters him making him corporeal again for seconds, but he now knows where Jane Scott’s body is being kept.
Rose does some digging and finds out that the address the body is being kept at is the County Cold Storage, owned by Thomas Gloucester, a member of the Council of Nine. They believe, after what the small sample did to Wilkes, that the amount of dark matter still in Jane Scott’s body will cure him.
We once again visit Violet’s home (reoccurring guest star, Sarah Bolger) to find her house has been broken into, she grabs a baseball bat as she enters the house, but what she finds is a meal on the table and Souza asleep on her couch. He wakes and apologizes for breaking in, while Violet apologizes for having to take a double shift. Souza starts to panic as he has lost something. When Violet asks what he is looking for, he has to admit he was going to ask her to marry him. She says yes and they continue to look for the ring.
Chadwick lies awake in bed while Whitney sleeps. He gets up and starts dressing but Frost is right behind him and asks for help.
Jarvis and Peggy break into the cold storage unit through a vent to retrieve Scott’s body, but as they find it, they hear Chadwick and Frost entering the room. Frost could feel the body calling to her and opens the casket, sucking all the dark matter from the body and says she needs an atomic bomb.
Wilkes deduces that Frost needs an atomic bomb to replicate the original zero matter explosion. He knows of only two existing warheads that match the original one used in the test. They belong to Roxxon, a rival of Stark Industries. Through corporate espionage, Stark learnt of a facility in California that must house one, as it was impenetrable. Peggy believes nothing is impenetrable.
Chadwick is reluctant to steal from a fellow member of the Council. but Frost convinces him by telling him it will make them far more powerful. She tries to kiss him but he pulls away and wants to know here plan.
Peggy returns to the office to find a celebration in full swing for Souza’s engagement. She pulls him aside to tell him to she wants to sneak into Hugh Jones’ office at Roxxon. They take pie to Dr Samberly to convince him to let them use a memory inhibitor.
Peggy disguises herself and enters Jones’ office. When he returns she pretends to be his secretary and starts to flirts with him. She keeps searching for a key she needs after he leaves for lunch, but can’t find it. He returns though, so Peggy uses the inhibitor and sends him on his way again, but he keeps remembering. Peggy realises he has the key, so she knocks him out with the inhibitor and eventually finds the key on his belt buckle, she takes it and leaves.
Frost takes Chadwick to meet a mob boss, Joseph Manfredi, her ex, who is very unhappy to see her with Chadwick. She wants help moving some equipment, in exchange for construction contracts. He want assurances that he won’t feature in the ‘paper’ like others have. He calls over one of his men and beats him claiming he was undressing Frost with his eyes.
Peggy, Souza, Jarvis and Wilkes make a plan of action to infiltrate the Roxxon building. Jarvis asks whether the SSR will help, but he believes they can’t trust anyone, but they consider Rose after watching her deal with one of the ‘talent agency’ clients.
The gang plan to take some equipment from the lab,, but get caught by Samberly, who is convinced to join them via some flirting from Rose.
The team arrive at the building in a car tagged Civil War Antiques. Sombrely and Rose pose as a married couple who are lost when approached by guards. Sombrely activates a device which he throws in the compound, electrocuting the guards when it goes off. Peggy notes that they are better dressed than a normal guard.
They go down the elevator, to find that the guard inside is already unconscious, knowing that Frost must already be inside. They continue with the plan and shut down the security system. They see a room has extra security and thats where they are heading. Frost’s team are already searching the building room by room. Samberly uses a device to pick up motion and Rose volunteers to take care of it, taking down a Maggia goon.
The rest of the team find the bombs but Samberly accidentally looks Jarvis in the room with the bombs. Sousa has to talk him through disarming them. Peggy fights another henchmen.
Rose returns with one of the guard’s knives and boosts Samberly’s confidence, while he tries to open the door, while Jarvis removes the first of rod from the bomb.
Peggy finishes off the thug just as Frost arrives, who is arguing with Chadwick. peggy offers to help Frost, but she refuses. Peggy punches her, but Frost hardly feels it.
Jarvis completes the extraction and Samberly gets him out. As they make their escape Frost grabs Peggy and the zero matter starts to find its way up Peggy’s arm. Peggy gets away but breaks the railing, falls but grabs on to the side. Frost tries to grab her but Peggy lets go, falling on a piece of rebar that goes through her body.
Jarvis and Sousa take Peggy to Violet, while Peggy insists she won’t be going to hospital.
Frost tells Chadwick he needs to talk to Jones but he refuses. She grabs him and warns him not to talk to her like that.
Sousa and Peggy are talking when Violet walks in. She realises that Sousa loves Peggy and that he move to LA to get away from her. Jarvis takes Peggy home.
While Frost sleeps, Chadwick calls an emergency meeting.
Jarvis sends Peggy to bed and leaves. Wilkes returns and Peggy explains that her flesh wound hurts less than what Frost tried to do to her. Wilkes says he has an explanation for that but he would tell her later. She relax and listen to some music. As Wilkes favourite song plays he fades away.
