Blunt In Talks For Poppins Sequel

Variety are reporting that British star Emily Blunt is in talks with Disney to play the lead role in the Rob Marshall directed Mary Poppins sequel.

Blunt has long been rumoured to be one of the favourites to play Mary Poppins, but the article does confirm that the deal is yet to be completed.

She has been a target for the role since she appeared in ‘Into The Woods’ for Disney last year, but it was recently confirmed that she was pregnant with her second child, which could play into her decision.

The film will be set 20 years after the original film, in Depression era London, when a adult Michael will have a family and just as Jane returns to London so does Mary.

No news on whether any other characters we know from the original film will be returning.
