Agent Carter Season 2 Episode 8 Recap

We open to Ana hearing Jarvis discussing a mission we saw in season 1, learning that we are in a flashback. He tells Ana about Peggy and that for once Howard actually has respect for her. Jarvis tells Ana that Peggy won’t interfere with his and Ana’s life but she tells him not to make promises.

Back to present day and Jarvis is keeping vigil beside Ana’s hospital bed. He is trying to get get their radio shows tuned in but can’t get the radio to work. Just has Peggy walks in Jarvis smashes the radio. Peggy assures him Ana will be alright and tells him will collect another radio and some personal affects for Edwin.

Whitney Frost has Jason Wilkes handcuffed to a chair, where is timing how long it takes for him to fade from existence. She promises to let him go when she has learnt everything she can from him. He tries to stall her by offering to write some notes for her, but she knows what he is up to. He tells here he hopes he will eventually fade away completely, but she believes if the work together they can solve this, but he wants nothing to do with it. She asks him whether he hears the same voices that she does, he confirms he does.

Sousa arrives at the Stark Household where he finds Ana’s blood. Peggy arrives and lets him know what has happened and Sousa gives her the information about Masters. Peggy wants to swap the uranium rods for Wilkes, but Sousa warns Peggy about Frost being with Manfredi.

They pay Manfredi a visit who is cooking dinner for his Nona. Peggy and Sousa take out his men.

Thompson, out for a drink with a British friend, takes a redacted file from his friend. As his friend enters another bar, Thompson walks away, completely sober and reads the file using a device. It is about Peggy’s brother.

Peggy and Sousa give Manfredi a warning about Frost. He tries to get rid of them but they threaten to tell one of his allies that he was the one who turned over state evidence. He promises to give Frost a message.

Frost and Wilkes continue to discuss whether to embrace the zero matter or destroy it, only stopping when they hear the voice. Manfredi interrupts, passing on the message that Carter is willing to trade the rods for Wilkes.

As Jarvis is making promises to Ana, she wakes and again informs him that he should makes promises he can’t keep.  He kisses her and runs to get the doctor. After he rings Peggy to let her know that Ana is awake, while Ana is being checked by the doctor. The doctor exits Ana’s room and tells Jarvis that Ana won’t be able to have children. He tells the doctor he will tell her, but can’t bring himself to do it.

They get Dr Samberly to make some fake uranium rods. They get ready to take them to Frost but Jarvis arrives. Peggy orders him back to Ana but he refuses. As they are arguing they receive a message from Howard, when Samberly looks at it he realises its plans for an energy cannon  which could get rid of zero matter. With Samberly building it Jarvis fills in as the driver.

As they leave they are stopped by Thompson who shows her the file. Peggy claims its a fake. Peggy say Thompson is better than that.

Whitney and Manfredi are waiting for the exchange. Manfredi claims Frost is more beautiful with the crack on her face as it shows power. Peggy and the team arrive. They pass the rods to Frost and when they are checked they register as real, but the rods get dropped and Frost realises they are fake. The team make a getaway but Manfredi’s men follow.

Peggy tells Wilkes about the cannon (now known as the gamma cannon). Sousa wonders why Manfredi’s car isn’t catching them when Wilkes moves from his containment chamber and pulls a gun on Peggy. He wants the real rods, Peggy won’t tell him, but Sousa can’t see Peggy get hurt and tells him.Wilkes phases through the van wall and is gone.

Masters is pleased with what Thompson has delivered, but Thompson isn’t sure whether the file is real or not. They are interrupted by a phone call, Masters orders Thompson to leave, but as he does he picks up another phone and listens in.

Masters goes to the SSR safe to get the rods but Thompson is waiting. Peggy and Sousa come back to find Thompson dazed and confused. Masters used Samberly’s mind wipe device. The last thing Thompson can remember is listening to the conversation on the phone, he had written a note of where Frost was.

Thompson wants to help them find Frost but Peggy and Sousa aren’t convinced. He does just enough and heads out while Sousa and Peggy chat about Wilkes, as to whether it is a rescue mission or whether he is the enemy. Sousa tells Peggy that any feelings can’t get in the way, but she questions why he gave up the location of the rods.

Jarvis asks Rose to look after Ana while he is gone and hands over some of his prize possessions as he isn’t sure if he will be coming back, then the team move out.

The team head for the location Thompson wrote down, where Frost is preparing ot to replicate the nuclear test that Isodyne used to open the rift, so that they can absorb the zero matter. Wilkes isn’t sure it will work, but the voice in their head promises it will. The bomb goes off and the rift opens, pulling Jason towards it.

The gamma cannon is ready, Peggy wants to know whether it will work, but Samberly doesn’t know. What he does know is that it only has enough energy for one shot. Jarvis, not wanting to risk it not working drives of in the car. Peggy follows in the van, while Sousa, Samberly and Thompson aim the cannon. When it goes off the rift closes and drops Wilkes, whose skin is now undulating.

Ana wakes in her room to find Rose watching over her. She notices the box Jarvis gave Rose and sees Edwin’s last will and testament in it.

Jarvis jumps out of the car and shoots Frost twice through the chest. Just has Manfredi is about to shoot him Frost gets back and tells them to keep Peggy and Jarvis alive.
