Review: Diamond Select’s Muppets Minimates Series 1

While at Toy Fair, one of the things I was excited for the most was the Diamond Select Toys’ Muppets offerings for 2016. While we wait for them to be released, let’s take a look at Series 1 of the Muppets Minimates, which were released late in 2015.

The Muppets Minimates Series 1 comes in two different assortments.

The regular retail assortment consists of:

~ Kermit and Miss Piggy

~ Scooter and Fozzie Bear

~ Gonzo and Swedish Chef

~ Stunt Show Gonzo and “Batter Damaged” Swedish Chef

The Toys ‘R’ Us exclusive assortment consists of:

~ Kermit and Miss Piggy

~ Scooter and Fozzie Bear

~ Bunsen and Beaker

~ “Lab Mishap” Bunsen and Beaker

NOTE: Not in this review is the “Lab Mishap” Bunsen and Beaker. I have yet to track down a set.

Now here are some close up looks:

Kermit and Miss Piggy come with Kermit’s nephew, Robin.

Scooter comes with a megaphone and clipboard. Fozzie has his rubber chicken.

Gonzo comes with Camilla and Swedish Chef has some kitchen utensils… and an ax.

The variant set of Gonzo and Swedish Chef come with the same accessories.

Overall, I love this set, and am looking forward to Series 2 of the Muppets Minimates, as well at the Muppets Select figures that are coming. I am a sucker for all things Muppets, but Diamond Select has this collection on point.
