“Swing into Spring” Opening Weekend at Disneyland Paris
A few weekends back, I had the great opportunity to go to Disneyland Paris for the opening weekend for their “Swing into Spring” Event. It is a bit similar to the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival at Walt Disney World but it features lots of great merchandise and entertainment. They also had a special St. David’s Welsh celebration the very same weekend.
Here are just a few cool things I got to see for these two events!
When you first walk into the park, you get to see some very cool Mary Poppins themed topiaries.
You also saw a few signs of spring coming to Disneyland Paris including Flowers hung from the lampposts with Disney Character signs, loads of floral everywhere and even some characters dressed in their springtime outfits meeting.
A special treat were the Disney Character themed Easter Eggs spread about the park!
Disneyland Paris Brought out characters for Swing into Spring such as some of the fab five in springtime outfits and even Disney Bunnies!
In the castle hub were quite a few Disney themed topiaries, including a new Tinker Bell one who’s wings lit up at night. This was also where most of the Swing into Spring shows and parades took place.
The entertainment included Goofy’s Garden Party, Minnie’s Spring Train and A Mary Poppins “Welcome to Spring” show.
Mary and Bert, along with a few friends from the movie, do a rendition of the classic songs from the movie in their show which will have you dancing the entire time.
There was quite a bunch of really cute and interesting pieces of merchandise for Swing into Spring including Clothing for men, women and children, accessories such as clutches and backpacks, mugs and cups, decorative garden pieces, plushes and more!
Another special treat was Disneyland Paris’s St David’s Welsh weekend Celebration. For their 9th annual run of this celebration they had a few things going on including a welsh childrens chrous, a St. David’s preparade, a Prefireworks show and Mickey and Minnie dressed in Welsh costumes greeting guests along with special holiday treats and face painting.
In comparison to EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival and as an american Disney parks fan, this was a real treat to experience not only a new park but how they celebrate springtime and share it with guests. It was very fun, interactive for all ages and really something all Disney fans should have the opportunity to experience.
