Spider-Man – The Clone Conspiracy Announced

The Clones are back! As so many of us predicted months ago, the Jackal has returned. Entertainment Weekly has broke the story today revealing that the latest Spider-man arc, Dead No More, will actually be called, The Clone Conspiracy.

Unlike previous storylines that focus on the Jackal attempting to ruin Peter’s life using clones, Dan Slott and editor Nick Lowe have said that this will be different. “The Jackal has always seemed to be obsessed with cloning Spider-Man and Gwen. He’s had a very narrow focus.That’s led to very interesting stories in the past, but you have to stop and think, if you’re The Jackal and you take science to the next level, what’s more important to you than just cloning Gwens and Peters? What does this character want, and what’s he going to do with this awesome science?” Slott told EW.

Lowe added, “This is not your normal super villain plan.” It sounds to me that this time around, the Jackal will be attempting to conquer death. Whatever the Jackal’s plan may be, Slott and illustrator Jim Cheung, have me looking forward to October when the first of five issues will be released.
