Doesn’t Look Like The X-Men Will Be Joining The Avengers Any Time Soon

There has been many rumours circulating around lately that the X-Men characters could be heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the Avengers: Infinity War, especially after the news of two new Marvel X-Men TV shows are in production and Sony did a deal with Marvel for Spider-Man to join the MCU.

Joe Russo, the director of Captain America: Civil War spoke with ComicBook.com and said  “As far as we know, right now there isn’t talk regarding the X-Men.  I don’t know if behind-the-scenes there were conversations or if there are conversations happening but we certainly haven’t heard of any.”

Our Take:

This doesn’t come as a big surprise, as the Marvel movies have been planned for a long time, it would take awhile to bring in all the characters into the MCU, rushing it for the Infinity War wouldn’t be a good idea.  The actors in the latest X-Men movie are set decades before the Avengers, so a new cast would need to be in place.
