Marvel: Avengers Alliance 1 & 2 Shutting Down
Disney have announced that they will be shutting down both Marvel: Avengers Alliance 1 & 2 on all platforms.
Here is the official announcement:
Today we are announcing the shutdown of Marvel: Avengers Alliance and Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2 on all platforms, including the App Store®, Google Play™, Amazon Appstore, Windows Phone Store, and Facebook. Beginning today, we are no longer accepting new purchases or downloads, but the games will be available to play until September 30, 2016.
We greatly appreciate the passion and support of all our players. This was a difficult decision, but we plan to focus our efforts on new games for our fans and community. Thank you for playing.
Our Take:
This is a big blow to the thousands of fans playing the game and spending a lot of money on this mobile game. Its odd that the MMA2 is being shutdown barely 6 months after the launch of the game. Disney do seem to be taking a look at all of their active projects and cutting things that aren’t profitable.
What do you think of Marvel Avengers Alliance 1 & 2 being shut down?
MMA 1 is the only browser game I play. I guess I’ll have more time on my hands once they shut it down but I”ll miss it. Maybe I’ll find something else but I doubt it. This one will be difficult to replace. I have enjoyed everything about it except the PvP which always irritated me. Thanks tho, for the time you gave me with the game Playdom and Disney.
I actually liked playing this game! I wish this could be picked up on another platform! Disney blows!!!
I’ve played avengers 1 pretty much since it started on fb, I’m really upset this will be removed…
dont feel like playing anymore games made by playdom and disney since i cant trust them anymore
Really, do you guys actually listen to the players and fans? Clearly you don’t as everyone who spent a fair bit of money and countless time playing the game is getting a huge slap in the face.
Aurguhart that’s not going to happen due to the expensive licensing of Marvel characters and how Marvel wants to keep things in house as much as possible now. If we can’t get them to change their minds, the game is gone for good.
Am not okay with this and feel you should change your mind. I will not play or pay any new game you come up with or release in the future if you continue with this choice. I will use my voice and my dollars to show my disdain for your decision. Not cool and not acceptable.
This has been the only Facebook that I didn’t drop after a while. This is horrible and unforgivable.

I very enjoy the Marvel : Avengers Alliance. It’s sad to know the game is shutting down. Hope they will change their mind. 🙂
MAA 1 was great in you made your own team, and yourself!
MAA 2, while looking AMAZING and playing great, they removed our customizable character from the game, and instead of working hard to buy the crew you wanted, now you were working hard to buy a CHANCE at the character you want. Maybe all your hard work will pay off in that charatcer, maybe not?
