Civil War, Luke Cage & Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D Events Coming To Marvel Heroes 2016

With the start of a new month, the team behind Marvel Heroes 2016 have announced some new events coming up in September, including events based on Civil War, Luke Cage and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

To tie in with the season premiere of both TV shows returning, here are some early details on those events:

After we patch on Tuesday, September 20th, we will be have our first Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D event! More details will be coming, but we have some very cool things coming to coincide with the season premiere. Holo-Sim is getting some love, including a new, more challenging level 60 only version with a full loot review, some new rewards and new achievements. We will be running this event until Friday, September 30th. The new level 60 version of Holo-Sim should be on Test Center fairly soon to test out.

Friday, September 30th, we will deploy another patch, and once it comes up – our Luke Cage event will begin! This event will be fairly similar in scope with our Daredevil event back in the spring and will focus on celebrating Luke Cage’s comic history as well as his brand new Netflix show. I hear the Diablos are back in town and causing problems! New achievements, a tournament, new items and some experience boosts are in store!

Here are the details on the Civil War event:

In celebration of the digital and upcoming home release of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, we’ve brought back our Captain America: Civil War inspired event in Marvel Heroes 2016!

Marvel Heroes 2016 Civil War Event Returns!

  • Crossbones still in Patrol Modes – Crossbones and his band of mercenaries are still terrorizing civilians in Hightown Patrol, Industry City Patrol and Midtown Manhattan Patrol. It is up to our heroes to go in there and stop him before more innocents are caught in the crossfire!
  • Madripoor Bazaar Chase – Maria Hill and S.H.I.E.L.D have been busy tracking Crossbones and have located him in a heavily populated Bazaar located in Madripoor. Many innocent civilians are trapped and only our heroes can go in and help them! The chase ends with a confrontation with Crossbones that will have a very polarizing effect on the world and their opinions on super heroes.
  • Bonus Experience – All of the playable heroes in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War will get 50% bonus experience! This includes Captain America, Iron Man, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Black Widow, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Vision and Spider-Man! Plus 50% base bonus experience for all playable heroes.
  • Civil War! – After the events of Madripoor, lines are drawn between Super Heroes and you must choose a side! Raise you influence with your team by doing daily missions and hunting down Super Villains. Will you do what it takes to ensure your side is the winning side, even if it means fighting other Super Heroes?
  • Tournament – Prove your allegiance by working with other players in a Civil War tournament, where the rewards are not based on individual placement, but team performance!
  • Airport Game Mode – The Airport Game Mode returns!

Our Take:

Its great to see some new events coming later this month, to tie in with the release of the new TV shows.  It also allows new players to experience the Civil War event from earlier this year, but I love the synergy between TV, Movies and Games.
