Countdown To Moana Event Coming To The El Capitan Theatre
To get Disney fans ready for the upcoming animated classic Moana, Disney is hosting a special event from the 6th to 16th of October at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.
The “Countdown to Moana” event features six iconic films including The Little Mermaid, Princess & The Frog, Hercules and more. These shows will be starting at 7 p.m. and will feature special presentations by filmmakers, artists or voice talent that will include discussions, Q&A and more surprises.
Here is a rundown of the events:
• Oct. 6-7, 2016 The Little Mermaid
Special presentation on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. with Christopher Daniel Barnes, who provided the voice of Prince Eric.
• Oct. 8-9, 2016 The Princess and the Frog
Special presentation on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. with directors Ron Clements & John Musker, plus Michael-Leon Wooley, who provided the voice of Louis.
• Oct. 10, 2016 Treasure Planet
Special presentation on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. with directors Ron Clements & John Musker
• Oct. 11-12, 2016 The Great Mouse Detective
Special presentation on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
• Oct. 13-14, 2016 Hercules
Special presentation on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. with directors Ron Clements & John Musker, plus Susan Egan, who was the voice of Meg in the movie.
• Oct. 15-16, 2016 Aladdin
Special presentation on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. with directors Ron Clements & John Musker, plus Brad Kane, who provided the singing voice for Aladdin in the movie.
For each of these 7pm shows, an amazing artwork card designed by Disney Animation for each of the movies will be given out each evening for ticketed guests attending that show. The first 50 guests in line each night will have the opportunity to get their special card autographed by the filmmakers prior to the movie. The Doors will open up at approximately 6 p.m. To guarantee an autographed item, fans can purchase the advanced VIP Preferred Animation Celebration Package.
In addition to the 7 p.m. screenings, each film will screen at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the dates indicated. Tickets for “Countdown to Moana” are available at the El Capitan Theatre (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), online, and by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. There are also discount ticket packages with VIP preferred seating available. Special group rates for parties of 20 or more are available by calling 1-818-845-3110.

It’s great to see Disney celebrating these classic movies and using the theatre to help promote Moana, but also allow fans to experience some of these classic movies on the big screen.
