First Look At Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Ghost Rider
We’ve got our first look at the new Ghost Rider from the new series of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Entertainment Weekly has had a first look at Gabriel Luna who will be playing the part of the Ghost Rider.
Executive producer Jed Whedon spoke with EW about the new character, “As always, we are going to put our own spin on the character. We are staying true to the comics in the places where we feel like it’s really important — we love the character’s family dynamic and the East L.A. kid in him.”
While the Ghost Rider has been seen on the big screen, with Nicholas Cage playing the character, this marks the introduction of the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It also brings in a more supernatural aspect to the show, which will also tie into this Falls new movie, Doctor Strange. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, Sept. 20th at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
“It started out with a guy building a suit using science, and then we met aliens that are the origin of the myths behind some of our gods, and this year Doctor Strange comes out, We’re opening it up even further to the world of things we don’t totally understand, or as Thor says, ‘Magic is science that we don’t understand.’ Well, we’re getting into some very, very fancy science.”
Our Take:
I’m really looking forward to the fourth season, with other superhero shows now featuring major characters like Daredevil, Supergirl and The Flash, this show needs some bigger characters and while the InHumans helped season 3, having the Ghost Rider involved will be better. While the character isn’t Johnny Blaze, it looks like they are making it different from those previous movies.
