Disney LongBox Reviews: Disney PIXAR Finding Dory #2
LUNCHTIME
The story starts with young Dory once again getting lost in the sea as she meets a bigger fish and asks if it has seen her parents, he suggests getting in his mouth in an attempt to eat her but she escapes and asks him again having already forgotten that she talked to him previously.
INTO THE DEEP
This is the longest story of the issue as it is oddly split into different parts with no ads in between them, this might be the case with another Dory magazine that these comics show up in.
Dory tells her parents that she has decided to get a pet, a pet rock that is as she takes him for a walk and plays with him as she gets distracted by the sight of Marlin nearby as she accidentally drops the rock in a gorge.
Hank sees her swimming down as he stops her telling her its too dangerous as she convinces him to come down with her. They are soon attacked by a manta ray as Dory gets shocked once again. Hank fends him off as Dory goes to get her rock as she gets ambushed by the same manta ray and his friends. How will they escape ? Read the rest of the story to find out
FINAL THOUGHTS : This comic has very lovely colours that represent the look of the Nemo films very well in a 50s Mary Blair kind of way. The illustrations are wonderful and perfect for a young kids title.
CRAB’S CORAL
Dory knocks onto a crab’s precious coral as she tries to make up to him when her memory loss triggers making things even worse
IN THE DARK
Simple story of Dory accidentally scaring Hank making him ink himself and the gags build up from then.
