Animated Spider-Man Movie To Focus On Miles Morales

Sony president Kristine Belson revealed at a slate presentation at the Culver City, California studio and later confirmed via Twitter, that the new animated Spider-Man movie will tell the story of the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man.

.@PhilipLord and @ChrizMillr are bringing the Miles Morales story to the big screen in all-new animated stand-alone SPIDER-MAN feature.

The new animated movie is being made by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are the filmmakers behind “The Lego Movie”. A pre-recorded video was shown at the event and the two directors said “What inspired us the most is that anyone can where the mask. You can be any race creed or color”.

Teenager Miles Morales grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Recently, Miles took on the controversial and pressured role of Spider-Man shortly after the death of the original. Morales made his debut against The Kangaroo, much to the surprise and disapproval of many present at the confrontation.

The new animated Spider-Man movie will be released on December 21st 2018.
