Disney’s Oscars Nominations Announced

Disney have been nominated for many Oscars for the upcoming Academy Awards, which will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on 26th February.   There are nominations for Moana, The Jungle Book, Doctor Strange, Rogue One, Zootopia and the BFG.

As per usual, Disney dominated the animated and technical categories, but even though they had the majority of the biggest box office hits of the year, they didn’t receive nominations for the major awards such as Best Picture, Best Director or Best Actor.  La La Land, picked up 14 nominations, which is a tie with “Titanic” and “All About Eve” for the most in Academy Award history.
