James Cameron Has Already Written Avatar 5
After waiting for the technology to catch up, James Cameron has wasted no time in mapping out the story for his next few Avatar films. The script for Avatar 5 has been written even though Avatar 2, 3, and 4 haven’t been produced yet. This is not a surprise as Cameron confirmed in 2009 that Avatar would become a franchise of films.
The first Avatar sequel will feature the original cast of Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, and Sigourney Weaver begins shooting this year. It has been previously confirmed that all of the Avatar sequels will be shot back-to-back and Cameron has said that he wants the sequels to have 3D technology and effects without the “goofy glasses”. At this point, Avatar 2 is scheduled for a December 2017 release, but that is unlikely given the amount of filming and editing that goes into a film like this. Cameron may even opt for a new released date as December 2017 is features the premiere of the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens sequel.
