Star Wars: The Last Jedi Tops The Box Office
The official worldwide weekend box office estimates have been released for the weekend of December 17, 2017, and as expected, Star Wars: The Last Jedi has dominated the box office in the US and worldwide.
comScore’s Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented, “Disney’s ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ proves that the box office force is indeed strong with a $450 million global debut in 55 territories including North America where it posted the second biggest opening of all-time taking in a whopping $220 million.”
Disney continue to draw money with Coco and Thor: Ragnarok, with Coco holding onto the third place in both charts.
Also with Disney now in the process of purchasing 21st Century Fox, its interesting to see Blue Sky’s animated movie, Ferdinand, starring WWE superstar John Cena, standing behind Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the US box office, with Murder On The Orient Express and The Shape Of Water also appearing on this list as future Disney owned titles.
