Star Wars: Poe Dameron #22 Review

Star Wars: Poe Dameron #22 sees the Black Squadron and General Organa teaming together for an extra-top-secret mission…and it’s up to them to rescue Lor San Tekka!

Its a shame Poe isn’t really given much to do in this issue, especially with how his character developed during Star Wars: The Last Jedi.  While the series is titled around Poe Dameron, it feels more like a series based on The Resistance as a whole, especially with so much focus on General Organa.  But that isn’t really a huge problem, as it’s great to find out more about the new era.

There is a little bit of action included, with some ship battles above Cato Neimoidia involving BB-8 and seeing more of the Resistance in action is always fun.

The main story involving a heist to get Lor San Tekka Out is interesting since it’s good to see General Leia showing some tricks that she’s picked up over the years.

The artwork in this book is very detailed, lots of colours and when General Organa is shown giving out orders, it looks so impressive, but then looks odd when she is dressed in her Alderaan attire.

OVERALL:  Another solid Star Wars comic book but with it focusing on events leading up to The Force Awakens, it does feel like it needs to jump forward a little and represent the Poe we see in The Last Jedi.
