Review: Disney Rock Candy Collection
For today’s review, I take a look at most of the Disney Rock Candy Collection by Funko. Featuring some of the wonderful Disney & Pixar female characters, these highly stylized vinyl figures are more like miniature statues.
NOTE: Not featured in this review are the regular releases of Sally (with jar), Maleficent (non GITD), and Cruella (non flocked), as well as the release of Jessica Rabbit. I simply have not found them in the wild yet.
Some of these Rock Candy have been out on store shelves for a good part of the year, but I didn’t start collecting them until New York Comic Con a couple of months ago when I finally tracked down the Moana Rock Candy. Alice, Tinkerbell, and Mrs. Incredible followed later that weekend from Toys “R” Us. The Hot Topic exclusive Sally joined the collection just before Halloween, and the Hot Topic exclusive Cruella and Maleficent were added in mid November around the time of their release.
Let’s take a closer look at each of them.
Overall, this is a beautiful Rock Candy line from Funko. I was able to resist the Barbie, DC Comics, and Harry Potter lines (for the most part), but when I saw that they were creatign a Disney line, I know that I would eventually be collecting them. I remained strong until Moana surfaced in front of me at NYCC, and since then it’s been downhill from there. Now to track down the remaining pieces before Funko releases more.
If you are collecting the Disney Rock Candy line of figures, I would love to hear your thoughts on the series.
