Darth Vader #10 Review
Issue 10 of Darth Vader sees him face off with Jedi, Jocasta Nu, who has a drive with a list of Force sensitive children that the Emperor is after.
I really like how this story is helping fill in the events after Revenge of the Sith, with Clone Troopers in full force and also how there are still aspects of Anakin Skywalker beneath the mask, which makes it much more interesting. Especially the scenes once Darth Vader gets the drive, showing he might not be fully on the Dark Side just yet, especially as she only refers to him as Anakin, rather than Vader.
The fight between Darth Vader and Jocasta Nu is done very well, since they avoid a straight up lightsaber battle, plus I loved how she used the line “I am One With The Force, And The Force Is With Me”, to connect up with the events of Rogue One. Which is always something I like to see, intergrating the different eras, since there is a huge gap between them.
Once again the artwork is very good and because it’s not using the photorealistic style that’s being used in the other Marvel Star Wars titles. So it all fits together much more easily on the eye, as that style does sometimes feel jarring.
OVERALL: Another great Star Wars title that delivers a fantastic battle, a connection between Rogue One and Revenge of the Sith. Plus showing a young Darth Vader in action.
