Live Action “Sword In The Stone” Remake May Have Found Its Director
Disney have been very successful with their live action remakes of their animated classics, with Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and The Jungle Book, all doing well at the box office.
The next adaptation looks to be a version of “Sword in the Stone”, as according to The Hollywood Reporter, director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is currently in talks with Disney to direct the movie. He previously directed 28 Weeks Later.
This new version has been written by Game of Thrones writer, Bryan Cogman, and focuses on a young King Arthur being taught by the wizard Merlin.
Out of all the animation-to-live action movies Disney has announced, this is the one that I am mostly (or at all) interested in. Casting Merlin correctly is going to be hard, though. We’ll see what happens.
