Star Wars Adventures: Forces Of Destiny — Ahsoka & Padme #1 Review
The fourth issue of the Forces Of Destiny sees Padme ask Ahsoka to help as her security and help secure an upcoming ambassador meeting. As you’d expect, Ahsoka helps stop an assassination attempt and shows how well Anakin Skywalker has trained her.
There is also a great scene at the start with Ahsoka training and how her style has been altered by Anakin Skywalker, which is much more reckless and unorthodox. Which makes her question her skills and adds a little more interest into this issue. It’s easily one of my favourite issues of the Star Wars Adventures range as it’s a solid original story and was fun to read.
This series is aimed at a much wider and younger audience that the main Star Wars titles from Marvel, with this issue having a very colourful and simple artistic style, that fits well with the “Forces Of Destiny” brand, which also includes short animated shorts and dolls.
Trying to fit a whole assassination attempt into one issue does result in a very simplistic story, which is perfect for a younger reader or someone jumping in for a one shot. It has that Saturday morning cartoon feel to it and it’s just a fun comic book for children, and those at heart.
OVERALL: Forces Of Destiny is a great series for younger Star Wars fans, with this issue standing out above the previous issues as it has a stronger story and shows both characters as strong females and it’s an original story.
