Star Wars: Forces of Destiny—Rose & Paige Review
Rose & Paige is the fifth issue of the Star Wars: Forces of Destiny series and is a one shot issue featuring the sisters who were introduced in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The story sees Rose creating some new trucks to explore the planet after encouragement from General Leia Organa, which leads to the sisters heading out for a little race, that ends as expected in Rose needing to rescue Paige, using her intelligence and problem solving skills.
While the story isn’t a anything ground breaking, it’s my favourite issue from this run of Forces Of Destiny, since this is an all new story, featuring two characters who are still relatively new and helps build out their relationship. While this story is similar to one found in the last issue of Star Wars Adventures, this is obviously going to be a major part of her character and feels similar to how Anakin Skywalker is portrayed as a child on Tattonie, before being found by the Jedi.
The art style is a little different to the previous issues, it’s feel much more “Disney”, reminding me of the Tangled comic book series. And I prefer it, since there are more detail in the background and on the actual characters, the previous Forces Of Destiny comics sometimes went to simple. I really hope, if this series continues, that this style is used as it’s far superior to previous issues.
OVERALL:
Rose & Paige is a decent Star Wars comic book, it’s great for younger audiences but not as simplistic as previous issues for adult readers. It does have a all new original story and helps develops the sisters relationship plus it has a great artistic style that is a highlight of this series.
