Review: NBX Resin Bust Collection (Diamond Select)
For today’s review, I take a look at the first series of The Nightmare Before Christmas Resin Bust Collection. Featuring Jack Skellington, Sally, The Mayor, and Wolfman, each one is limited to a run of 3,000. Let’s take a closer look at these beautiful pieces, which Diamond Select sent me over to review.
Jack Skellington
Sadly, something must have happened in the shipping of Jack, but he came in with his extended arm (holding the pumpkin) broken at the shoulder and the elbow. Diamond Select is sending me a replacement, which shows that they care about their customers and fans. I was able to get one pic of the statue regardless of the break. It really is a fun sculpt of the Pumpkin King.
Sally
Here Sally is featured holding a rose. She is the smallest of the four busts, albeit one of the best looking Sally collectibles that Diamond Select has produced.
I also like how they hand numbered the bottom of each piece. That is happening less and less in collectibles these days.
The Mayor
By far the tallest of the four busts because of his hat, The Mayor comes with a separate head piece that allows you to display him with either his happy face or sad face…. because he is a politician… two-faced.
Wolfman
A character not normally seen in NBX collectibles (especially in the first wave of a line), this Wolfman bust is, for me, the stand out sculpt of the four, thought they are all great. I just enjoy his look, and the profile of the sculpt is beautiful.
Overall, I am really liking this new NBX collection from Diamond Select, and happy to see that they are already doing more releases for the line, as Zero and Oogie Boogie were on display at Toy Fair to be released this year.
