Amazing Spider-Man #2 Review
Amazing Spider-Man #2 sees Peter Parker return to University to meet Doc Conners aka The Lizard, to start rebuilding his life and career, following the events of the previous issue.
This issue is packed full of villains, though they might be in a slightly different league to your usual Spider-Man story, it works well as a continuation of the previous issue, to help set up Spider-Man as a college student once again.
It’s a much lighter tone than many of the recent Spider-Man and Marvel comics I’ve read recently and I prefer it, especially adding in some humour and just letting the characters go back to their roots.
The Lizard plays an interesting part in this issue, though the cover is a little misleading, since we have other villains provoking Spider-Man, but the use of the Lizard is different to normal, which is a bonus. The artwork is very impressive, since it felt very crisp and clean, with the colours jumping off the page.
I also really liked the cliffhanger at the end, which instantly wants me to go to the next issue. And this is one of the great things with the “reboot”, its allowed me a chance to jump back into this series and fulfill that Spider-Man comic desire.
OVERALL: This issue takes me back to watching Spider-Man cartoon’s on a Saturday morning, which is exactly what I want from a Spider-Man story, conflict with MJ, some humour, some villains and some great action. It’s a great time to jump in!
