Alien: Blackout Out Now
Today, FoxNext Games and D3 Go! launched the survival horror mobile game Alien: Blackout, bringing the heart-pounding adventure of 21st Century Fox’s timeless space horror saga, Alien, to mobile devices.
Developed by Rival Games and Theory Interactive, Alien: Blackout takes place between the events of Alien and Aliens and promises fans a frightening new interactive experience, forcing them to balance their safety with that of their crew in an attempt to outsmart the extraterrestrial hunter. Alien: Blackout is available to download on the App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon Appstore.
“At FoxNext Games, we knew we needed to find a great partner to help expand the Alien universe in a unique way,” said Devin Radford, VP of Business Development for Licensed Games at FoxNext Games. “We found the right team with D3 Go! to help bring the pulse-pounding terror to life in Alien: Blackout, and we can’t wait for fans to jump into the game and experience it for themselves.”
In Alien: Blackout, players assume the role of Amanda Ripley, trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a blood-thirsty Xenomorph. Players will need to survive increasingly challenging, fear-inducing levels and outsmart the ever-adapting Xenomorph. Players must skillfully guide the crew to safety by balancing the controls of the space station’s emergency systems with the limited emergency power to open doors, activate motion trackers and monitor surveillance cameras to avoid encounters with the enemy. Players will be forced to make life or death decisions in order to complete missions, and can test different strategies and theories to outlast the Xenomorph in pursuit of victory.
“Together with the FoxNext team, we’ve created an unforgettable, authentic Alien experience that bridges two of the most iconic films in the franchise,” said Pete Andrew, Senior Vice President of Product Development, D3 Go! “Alien: Blackout offers fans the palpable, fear-inducing experience of encountering a Xenomorph up close and the decision-making power to determine what comes next.”
FoxNext Games’ studio, Cold Iron Studios, is also currently at work on a massively multiplayer online shooter set in the Alien cinematic universe for consoles and PC.
Alien: Blackout is available today for $4.99 on the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. Players can download the game here.
