Review: Habro’s Disney Style Doll Series
With D23 Expo 2019 gearing up tomorrow, pretty soon we will be deep into tons of great information and announcements from the convention. However, today I wanted to share a special look at the first releases in the new Disney Doll Collection from Hasbro, which showcases a high fashion look at popular Disney Icons. Last week, I received a very special package from the team at Hasbro. Let’s see what’s inside.
Inside this package is the first three dolls in this new line, which was first revealed at SDCC last month: Disney Princesses Ariel, Mulan, and Belle.
Each of these Disney Princesses come dressed in their elegant gowns and come with accessories such as shoes, handbags, necklaces, and hair pieces. Additionally, each Princess comes displayed in a beautiful window box, with complementary concept art on the reverse side. Each box is numbered on the side showcasing the number it is in the series.
Now, with dolls like these, I as a collector would prefer to keep them in the packaging. However, I did want to take a better look at the dolls, so I decided to remove Ariel from packaging. I will say that Hasbro took real care in securing these dolls in their packaging. Parents, if you get these dolls for your kids and it’s decided to remove them to play with, get a small, sharp pair of scissors and some patience.
In addition to Ariel’s beautiful, sparkling dress, she also comes with a light blue pair of heels, a shell handbag, and a pearl and shell headband.
Though Hasbro notes that dolls aren’t supposed to stand on their own, Ariel was stable enough to stay standing for a bit. She also has multiple points of arm articulation, which makes from a more varied amount of poses she can do.
I really appreciate Hasbro’s attention to detail with these dolls, especially the likeness to their respective Disney Princess. My favorite especially is Mulan, with Ariel a close second. Belle looks great, but I feel there is something off with her eyelashes… way too thick for a high fashion Belle, in my opinion.
These dolls will release at most major retailers, and will be priced at $24.99. For those that want to pre-order them, you can over at Entertainment Earth.
Special thanks to the team at Hasbro for sending these dolls over to me to review. I really appreciate it and I am excited to see future releases in this beautiful line.
