NYCC ’19 Highlight: Disney Collect! by Topps Digital

While at New York Comic Con last month, I stumbled across something pretty fun coming this month that I was unaware of before. Officially revealed at D23 Expo in August, the Topps Company is rolling out a new digital collecting app revolving around all things Disney. Similar to their other apps like Star Wars Card Trader and MARVEL Collect!… here is a look at what’s coming with Disney Collect!.

So, what exactly is Disney Collect!? It’s a digital trading card app. Once downloaded, users can open up packs of cards (both Free and for a cost), and then trade those cards with one another online. Friends can compare collections, help one another earn awards, and more. I personally have Star Wars Card Trader (SWCT) on my phone, and I really enjoy collecting cards and it is exciting coming across a rare one or one that you don’t have yet. Special sets and sub-sets are released each week. I am assuming that along the same lines as SWCT, each day I am given a set amount of “currency” to spend on packs for free, as well as a free pack roughly once every hour. If I want to use real world money to purchase more currency I can, but to enjoy the app it is not necessary.

 

Over the past month or so over on Disney Collect!’s Twitter Page, the team at Topps has revealed properties and characters that will be coming to the collecting app at launch. This includes Pixar films, as well as The Muppets, Disney Animation, Disney Villains, and more. Here are some of the images that Topps has shared.
