Want Avatar’s Pandora as a model? Let LEGO know

Would you like to have a bioluminescent planet on your shelf? The marvelous landscapes of Pandora, the world of Avatar could be turned into beloved plastic bricks, thanks to LEGO Ideas.

For those that don’t know, LEGO Ideas allows anyone to propose a new LEGO set. If 10,000 people vote in support of the set, it goes before a panel for review, and may be greenlit for production. It’s the same public participation process that’s brought us LEGO based on WALL-E (2015 set), TRON: Legacy Light Cycle (2018), Steamboat Willie (2019), Winnie the Pooh (upcoming), and Home Alone (upcoming).

As of publication, the set has 9661 supporters. If 339 more people to vote for the project, it advances to the expert review process. Its designer, “bulldoozer”, has reached 10,000 before: their Sesame Street idea is now in production, and their Community TV series set in under review.

Explore its lush rainforest landscape filled with magnificent flora and fauna. Race your banshee across the Hallelujah Mountains while battling human invaders that seek to plunder the moon’s unobtanium deposits. Defend yourself against ferocious six-limbed predators and commune with Eywa beneath the Tree of Souls.

 

And when the lights go out… watch the model’s bioluminescent inhabitants glow in the dark!

 

From Na’vi artifacts to floating mountains, this LEGO Ideas set based on James Cameron’s Avatar is filled with colorful surprises and memorable scenes from the film.

What would the set include?

Journey to the mystical land of Pandora with this elaborate model, which features:

  • 18 animal and 26 plant species in land, air, and sea habitats
  • Glow-in-the-dark parts that mimic the bioluminescent glow of the flora and fauna from the movie
  • A model base that features iconic landmarks from the film, including the Tree of Souls, Stone Arches, the Hallelujah Mountains, and Eastern Sea Coastline
  • Unobtanium mineral deposits that are hidden deep beneath the Tree of Souls
  • Props include: ancient Na’vi cave paintings, Toruk Makto’s great leonopteryx skull, Jake Sully’s wheelchair and exopack, field microscope, old school house class picture, and a copy of “The Na’vi” guide book from the film.
  • Minifigures include: Jake Sully (human and Na’vi forms), Neytiri, Dr. Grace Augustine, Colonel Miles Quaritch, and a Na’vi infant
  • War painted versions of Jake and Neytiri’s heads
  • A buildable Amplified Mobility Platform (AMP suit)
