Review: Pixar Limited Edition Loot Crate #1

Last year, Loot Crate teamed up with Pixar to release a series of Limited Edition crates, each featuring exclusive items not available anywhere else. Three crates in total, one could opt in to only paying for one crate at a time (for $49.99 each plus shipping), or pay up front for all three crates and get an additional bonus: a Premium Pixar Jacket.

Exclusive Premium Pixar Jacket

Not knowing what was in store, I’m hopeful for Loot Crate now that it’s owned by Money Chest, LLC, which was majority funded by NECA. I decided to go all in and get the three crate subscription. A couple of weeks ago, my first crate arrived. Let’s see if it was worth it.

Item #1: The Incredibles Passholder Belt Bag

The “major” item of the crate. I love the design and the fact that you can hold your Disney Parks Annual Passholder card in the front. Is it something I personally will use? No. I’m not into “fanny packs”.

Item #2: Up Wilderness Explorer Bandana

This is a really fun bandana, featuring Carl, Russell, Dug, and Kevin, as well as Wilderness Explorer badges, airplanes, and balloons. I will probably end up framing to piece, as I’d hate to ruin it using it as an actual bandana.

Item #3: Monsters Inc. “Scarer of the Year” Challenge Coin Keychain

It’s a beautiful keychain, featuring Sulley and Mike W… well, sorta. I will probably end up finding a spot to hang this on a wall.

Item #4: Onward Willowdale College Sketchbook

Nice sketchbook. Might end up using it or giving it to a friend.

Item #5: Wall-E Collapsable Storage Tote

I really like how this tote folds up to be quite small and contained. Is it something I would use on an everyday use? No. It’s not really rugged enough to everyday grocery shopping. However, this is perfect to put in your luggage if you are going away, and easy enough to open up should you need a bag for something.

Item #6: Artist Series Pins by Tom Whalen

Buzz, (Lucius) Best, & Barley

To be honest, I was on the fence on if this crate was worth it, until I got to the pins. These pins by artist Tom Whalen look amazing. A “B” and blue theme.

While this first crate wasn’t a “home run”, I find most of the items useable for me… which is better than previous Loot Crates I have gotten in the past. I am also looking forward to the second of the three Pixar Limited Edition Crates, as it will have a Woody’s Boot Mug, which includes ANDY written on the bottom of the mug, and a snake inside the boot.
