“Luca” Happy Meal Toys, Now at McDonalds

This summer’s newest Disney-Pixar movie is now arriving in Happy Meal boxes across the United States and Canada. Luca begins streaming on Disney Plus on June 18, but many McDonalds locations already have the new line of toys available.

There are two toys of both Luca and Alberto, the movie leads. The sea monster toys swim, while the human form ones change colour in cold water. Giulia and Massimo also swim, she with her arms, he with his feet. A green fish spits water.

The oddest toy? A cat that seemingly urinates while it spits.

McDonald’s has also released a colouring and activity sheet based on the movie, downloadable from their website.

Luca isn’t available worldwide. British McDonalds are offering Minion toys, made of foldable cardboard. Australia is also offering Minions, but instead 26 sets of two figurines. They’ll follow that series with Space Jam 2. Italy — the setting of the movie — is offering DC Super Heroes as chibi stuffed toys, as are the United Arab Emirates. It’s a fascinating and seemingly random patchwork of licenses.
