Review: Funko SODA- Disney’s Professor Owl
While I normally do not collect any of the Funko SODA line of vinyl figures, I have been tempted by a few of the Disney designs that have been released. While up until how I have even been strong enough to resist getting them, I cracked earlier this year. Growing up, I was a big fan of the Disney Sing Along Songs film series. One of the hosts of this film series was Professor Owl, who originally appeared in 1953. Professor Owl, considered an “offbeat” Disney character, does not get a lot of collectibles made bearing his likeness. When I saw that Funko was releasing him in SODA form, I knew he would end up in my collection. Let’s check him out.
Only 7,500 Professor Owl figures were made: 6,250 of the regular release and 1,250 of the “Chase”, a version of Professor Owl with a graduate cap on him. I didn’t really care which version I got… and I ended up with the regular.
Anyone else get “Toot, Whistle, Plunk, and Boom” stuck in their head when they see Professor Owl?
While he seems to be basically sold out in regular retail, he might pop up on the secondary market. However, if you are interested in checking out what kinds of characters come out in the SODA line, check out our friends over at Entertainment Earth.
