“The Voice” Singer Part of “Country Bear Musical Jamboree” New Cast

The upcoming Country Bear Musical Jamboree is just around the corner, and we’re getting new information about the casting from Walt Disney Imagineering’s newest We Call It Imagineering episode, “Soundscapes.”

Emily Ann Roberts as Trixie

We first met Emily in 2015, when she was a contestant on The Voice, as part of Team Blake Shelton. Immediately, three of her songs fro mthe show placed on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and a fourth showed up on the Hot Christian Songs chart. She placed second in the season. She’s followed the series up with both a gospel and a country album.

She’ll be opening for Jamey Johnson at select stops on his tour this summer, in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi.

In recent months, she’s perform at The Opry, and met fans at CMA Fest. Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame named her one of the CMT New Women of Country, in April.

She sings “Try Everything” in the new show, which apparently is the first song in the performance.

In the video, Roberts shares:

You’ve got all of these scenes of these different things she has tried, and failed, and she’s keepin’ on trying. I have felt that way plenty of times! And so, it was really, really neat once I knew that concept, to just throw myself into that headspace and know it’s more about telling that story, and getting the emotion across, more than it is about singing everything “perfectly.” And what do I want the folks in the audience to feel, when I hear it? It makes me wanna try everything, so I sure hope it makes these folks want to try everything too.

Will Mac McAnally voice Henry?

Grammy-nominated artist, producer and singer-songwriter Mac McAnally has twice placed on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as making the Hot Country Songs six times.

As a writer, he penned number-one singles for Alabama and Shenandoah, and as a musician, he was part of the Coral Reefer Band until Jimmy Buffett’s death in 2023. He was named Musician of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards annually from 2010 to 2018.

During one of his appearance in the video, host Henry is shown. The timbre of Mac’s vocal cords does suggest he’s taking on the role created by Peter Renday, the narrator for attractions like The Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh and Mark Twain Riverboat.

A January video revealed that he’s singing “The Bear Necessities.”

Allison Russell and Christopher Scott Thile as Wendell and Teddi Barra

From 2016 to 2020, Christopher Scott Thile hosted radio series Live from Here, the successor to A Prairie Home Companion. A mandolinist, he’s known for folk and progressive bluegrass with Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers. Canadian Allison Russell has received eight Grammy nominations and one win, among other awards, in the Americana and American Roots categories.

They’re taking on “A Whole New World.” Deceptively, the video shows Big Al in relation to Christopher, but Wendell is credited to him on Disney Parks Blog.
