Massive Lines at Australian Disney Store Pop-Up

DisneyStore.com now has a distribution warehouse in Australia, making deliveries easier than ever. To celebrate, there’s a pop-up store at Westfield Doncaster near the Kathmandu shop, until August 30. Notably, it was one of the few locations worldwide with the D23 exclusive Lorcana foil cards.

There was a massive lineup at the store. That sort of thing was common in the halycon days of Disney Store openings and re-openings, but is refreshing to see is still the case. Hopefully Westfield and Disney will realize the power of in-person connections, and open more pop-ups, perhaps some day opening more permanent outposts. Disney has licensed the format around the world, including Mexico, the Middle East, South Korea, and upcoming stores in The Philippines.

No word on if the prices have come down with the new Australian distribution warehouse. The previous pop-up stores had $45 ornaments and $29 pins, to the shock of some online commenters.
