Christopher Robin Soundtrack Review

Disney’s latest live action movie, Christopher Robin, features a score written by Jon Brion and Geoff Zanelli. Which is full of soft and gentle tracks, that take the listener from the real world, back to the 100 Acre Wood, to be amongst old friends and to feel all very nice and cozy.

A stand out track is called “Goodbye, Farewell” and is the only track that features the characters like Pooh singing, which makes it the most traditional Winnie the Pooh style song on the album. It’s fun and uplifting, with it instantly feeling familiar due to Jim Cummings voice. Plus this was written by Richard Sherman, who created some classic Disney songs for movies like “Mary Poppins”, “The Jungle Book”and other “Winnie the Pooh” movies.

This album also includes two other new tracks that are sung by Richard Sherman. These are some lovely songs, that stand out from everything else on the album, they sound like classic Disney and I think they are easily worth listening to for life long Disney fans.

There are other songs on the album that feature more traditional “Pooh” sounds, such as the “Heffalump Battle”, but it never goes back to the older animated movies, instead carving out its own gentle sound.

Another lovely track is “I Do Nothing Every Day”, it’s a beautiful piece that is one of my favourites, it’s soft and gentle, but has that something special that is hard to explain, other than it simply being lovely.

And that’s something that floats throughout the score, it’s all very lovely and peaceful, with a fantastic orchestral sound featuring soft gentle instruments such as the flute and piano. While the majority of the songs are laid back, it does up the tempo when the movie requires it, such as the “Train Station” track.

OVERALL: The Christopher Robin Score is a lovely, gentle soundtrack, that feels homely and comforting. It’s all very easy to listen to, especially as a way of chilling out or calming down. Which is exactly what I think of, when I think “Winnie The Pooh”, that and honey!

REVIEW SCORE: 7 out of 10
