Canada: August Opening for 14 Spirit Halloween Locations in Former Toys”R”Us Units

When one store closes, another one opens, namely Spirit Halloween. Fourteen locations of the spooky retailer will open in former Toys”R”Us units in Canada, as that 42-year-old landmark chain shutters. All of the Spirit Halloweens will open in August.

Perhaps the most remarkable of the lot is the Lethbridge location, which closed within the last couple days.

In Ontario, those seven locations are Barrie (Bayfield), Belleville, Guelph, Kanata, Nepean, Newmarket, and Ottawa East (1200 St. Laurent Boulevard). Interestingly, the Brampton location is in the former Value Village in the same plaza as Toys”R”Us just left, likely as it’s a bit more visible to the road.

In Quebec, former Toys”R”Us stores in Drummondville and Pointe Claire will be converted, while the Maritime provinces will welcome locations at Charlottetown and Fredericton. Out west, look for  the former Winnipeg (1560 Regent Avenue West), Lethbridge, and North Edmonton stores to be converted.

New adult costumes this year include an inflatable Rotta the Hutt, Grogu, and The Nightmare Before Christmas‘ Mayor. Kids’ options include inflated Rex and Pizza Planet Alien costumes.
