Holiday ’15 Gift Guide: The Avengers Vault
As the holidays approach, we here at DisKingdom.com will be highlighting some fun items from some great that would make great gift ideas for the special people in your life. First up is the awesome The Avengers Vault book from comic book author Peter A. David and Thunder Bay Press.
This vibrantly color hardcover book showcases the history of The Avengers, from their debut in 1963 up to the inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Included in this handbook to The Avengers are sections for the “big four”- Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk- and features a lot of our other favorite Avengers.
Also included in this book are (10) collectibles curated special for this book. For The Avengers intro chapter, we got a look at an ad for Avengers #3, showing art for Iron Man that changed between issues, and a look at the 1978 Avengers roster by John Buscema.
For Thor, we got a replica of a 1985 poster by Walt Simonson promoting Throg, and a color guide for Avengers #309 by Paul Ryan, Tom Palmer, and Christie Scheele.
Also included are collectibles highlighting Iron Man, Captain America, and the Hulk. Want to see them? Buy the book.
Even though I have followed The Avengers on and off over the years, and figured I knew a lot about them, I learned quite a bit about the team evolving over the decades. Safe to say that this book will remain in my collection for years to come… as soon as I get it back from my family members who have already borrowed it to read.
Interested in picking this book up as a gift for the holidays? Barnes and Noble currently has this book on sale… normally $34.95 and on sale for $21.96, for a savings of 37%.
Stay tuned this fall as we bring you more Gift Guide highlights.
