Star Wars Episode VIII Begins Filming

Recently during a investor call, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that filming of Star Wars Episode VIII has started and that “production of Episode IX, a 2019 release, has also begun.”  He also added that “Filming of Rogue One is virtually completed and we absolutely love what we’ve seen so far.”

Rian Johnson will be taking over the director roll from JJ Abrams and will be released in December 2017, as it had been pushed back a few months to allow more time to film and make edits to the script.

The filming is set to move to Dubrovnik in Croatia next month and Finn Actor John Boyega has said that that Episode VIII will be much darker than the Force Awakens and that his role is more physically demanding.
