Marvel Announces “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Adaptation
It seems that the force is still strong with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. According to comicbookresources.com, Marvel comics announced at the ComicsPRO meeting in Portland, Oregon, that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will receive a five-issue comic book adaptation. The comic book will be written by Chuck Wendig (Aftermath) and drawn by Luke Ross (Spider-Man, Green Lantern, Indiana Jones).
This is where the business strategies of the Disney corporation will really shine. Valuable contributors that have contributed to both the Star Wars and Marvel universes will collaborate to produce this adaptation. Chuck Wendig, an aficionado of the Star Wars brand responsible for writing the 2015 novel Star Wars: Aftermath, Luke Ross, most notably known as the artist of the Hercules series, and finally Esad Ridic who will be providing the cover art for the series.
“‘The Force Awakens’ knocked our socks off from the very first time we saw it, and we could not wait to start being able to play with these new, awesome characters!” editor Jordan D. White told Comic Book Resources. “Now, we get to bring all of them to the pages of our comics with an adaptation of the film we loved so much! We’re all fans first, so it’s all love that is bringing these pages to life!”
Marvel’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens limited series will his store shelves June of this year.
