Producers of STAR WARS : THE FORCE AWAKENS Charged Over Harrison Ford’s On Set Accident
On June 12th 2014 during the filming of STAR WARS : THE FORCE AWAKENS, Harrison Ford was airlifted to hospital trauma unit after being crushed by a hydraulic door during filming.
The Actor, 71 was on set at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire when the hydraulic door of the Legendary Millennium Falcon fell down and closed onto his leg. This resulted in him breaking his ankle and leading to the team postponing filming for two weeks.
Almost two years after Ford’s accident, Disney’s subsidiary Foodles Production are being criminally charged for breaching four health and safety violations.
“By law, employers must take reasonable steps to protect workers – this is as true on a film set as a factory floor” explained the Health and Safety Executive.
Disney’s subsidiary production team are disappointed in the HSE’s decision to charge after stating that the cast and crews safety is always a top priority according to IGN.
In any Disney Experience, it is apparent that safety always comes first, whether you are in a Disney Park or opening a new piece of Disney Merchandise.

So every time an actor gets hurt on set they should sue the production company? that doesn’t make any sense. Of course the company didn’t want anyone to get hurt, why grab at straws trying to get a little extra cash? And plus, didn’t Harrison ford make literally 50x anyone else on this movie? He doesn’t need more and he doesn’t need to make any statement. It was clearly an accident.
